Thomas Alva Edison

Have you heard about Thomas Alva Edison...?
Thomas was born on 11 February 1847. He was on of the outstanding
geniuses of technology and obtained  patents for more than thousand
inventions including the electric light bulb.
He was in milan, ohio and he was always an inquisitive boy.
By the time he was 10 he had set up a small chemical laboratory in his house.
He soon became fascinated with electrical currents and it remained the main interest of his life.

In 1876 he built a new laboratory so that he could spend all his time inventing.
He planned to turn out minor inventions every ten days and a "big trick"
every six months . Before long he had 40 different inventions going at the same time and
was applying for as many as 400 patents a year. The following year, Edison moved to news jersey
in order to build the Edison Laboratory which was 10 times bigger than his first laboratory.
In time is was surrounded by factories employing 5,000 people and producing many new products.
Edison died on 10 October,1931 having had a remarkably productive life.

the importance of Rainforest

Tropical rainforests are located around the equator. The temperature around the equator is high.Hence the rate of water evaporation is high.As a result there is frequent rain in rainforest .They are found in South and Central America,Africa,in the islands around Australia and Asia.
The rainforests are important to human existence and the surroundings. Rainforests are a rich source of medicinal plants,food and useful forest products.They maintain about 50% of the plant,animal,bird,reptile and insect species of the world. These forests help to maintain a regular rainfall. They also stand as a buffer against floods, droughts and erosion. These forest produce a significant amount of the world's Oxygen.
